A proud Xenos species, the Aeldari are on the decline since the events of the Fall, around ten millennia ago, which saw their empire crumble. While some survived and thrived as the twisted Drukhari, others calling themselves the Asuryani choose a strict life aboard the Craftworlds, a few gigantic spaceships drifting across the galaxy. A fundamental element of their culture is their adherence to the Path, a system meant to make sure they don't fall back in the decadent ways responsible for the downfall of their former empire. They can travel across the galaxy through the Webway, a galactic sized extra-dimensional network allowing for faster travel than traditional voidships.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Introduced during the 1st Edition of Warhammer 40,000 as the Eldar,[2] they were renamed Aeldari in 2017, with the release of the 8th Edition Rulebook.[3]
While the color scheme of the Aeldari shown in screenshot and artworks are similar to craftworld Iybraesil, developers declared that the game will feature a completely new craftworld created for the game.[4]
