Idira Tlass is an unsanctioned psyker who came to be in the service of the Rogue Trader.
Background[]
An unsanctioned psyker is a human psyker, a mutant who developed psychic abilities in tune with the Warp, who has not passed through the Imperium of Man regulation process of psykers, and therefore is considered a heretic. Such psyker managed to survive the apparition of their powers and resist the call of the Warp either out of luck or great mental abilities, and to hold some control over their unusual abilities.[1]
Idira Tlass is one such individual, gifted with formidable self-control and natural hold over her powers. Born on a distant world outside of the Imperium of Man's control, her talent for divination made her very useful to the leader of her home planet. However, as soon as the occasion for interstellar travel presented itself through the apparition of a Rogue Trader, she left to join their crew. Meanwhile, her powers become more and more taxing as the Warp's malice push her ever closer toward her doom.[1]
Gameplay[]
Idira starts the game with the Operator class, a support role that focuses on debuffing enemies. She is an Unsanctioned Psyker, meaning that she starts with a Psy Rating of 1 instead of zero, but her chances of triggering psychic phenomena and perils of the warp are much higher. She starts with access to the Divination and Telepathy disciplines. Her homeworld is considered a Death World. She comes with a Level 2 Heretical conviction.
There are some fights in the story that are considered ambushes, meaning that the player will not have a chance to set up their team's positions before combat. If Idira is in the party, she will sometimes warn the Rogue Trader that the attack is coming, so it will not be an ambush. She will also sometimes tell the player when an NPC is lying.
Recruitment[]
Idira is recruited automatically during the game's prologue. She is recruited at level 1, so the player has control of all of her level-ups. She comes equipped with an Armoured Bodyglove, a Laspistol, and a Psychic Staff.
In addition to the normal ways that a player can get rid of a companion, they can give her to the Inquisition by talking to Heinrix while on the bridge of the flagship.
Behind the scenes[]
Idira Tlass can be seen along with Theodora von Valancius and Abelard Werserian in the Announcement Teaser Trailer.[2]
