Rogue Trader was a tabletop role-playing game published and supported by Fantasy Flight Games between 2009[1] and 2014,[2] and part of a wider range of role-playing games with Dark Heresy, Deathwatch, Black Crusade and Only War.[3] The game put the players in the role of a Rogue Trader and his closest crewmembers as they explore the Koronus Expanse. Several Carrer Paths are available to players: Rogue Trader, Arch-Militant, Astropath Transcendent, Explorator, Missionary, Navigator, Seneschal and Void-master. The game also supported a system for naval combat.[4]

The game serves as a basis for the video game Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader by Owlcat Games, and players of the Fantasy Flight Games Warhammer 40,000 line of products should find familiarity in the design. However, it is not a direct adaptation of the tabletop game and uses it as an inspiration rather than a set of hard rules to follow. Even before pitching the video game to Games Workshop, going as far as during the development of Pathfinder: Kingmaker, employees of Owlcat were running three different campaign of Rogue Trader (one was mixing Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader),[5] during 5 years.[6]

Returning content from the tabletop game are listed here.
